A few years ago MySpace lead the way in the social networking industry with their revolutionary website that allowed users to create their own profile page and interact with each other using blogs, photos, music and messaging services. However, since the popularity of its rival websites, Facebook and Twitter, MySpace has decreased in popularity and is now facing the fact the possibility of losing up to a third of its staff. At the moment MySpace has over 120 million users and despite Facebook and Twitter are relatively new social media websites they have already made an impact in today’s culture gaining a larger user base.
The future now for MySpace seems to be a challenge to renovate the website and begin to compete with the likes of Facebook and Twitter, helping them to entice new users and former users back to the social networking website.
