How Does The MeCard Work?
The MeCard Prepaid Teen Card is pretty much the same as a credit card but doesn’t carry the risk of borrowing money or getting debt. This is because you top up what you can afford, and don’t borrow any cash from the provider. Other than that it works exactly like a credit card using chip and PIN technology to enable you to access your funds, and allows you to spend online, and in store without the risk of going overdrawn and incurring any costs.
You can also text off your phone to see how much you currently have loaded on to the card, so you can keep up-to-date with your finances.
Is It Safe To Use?
Carrying around the MeCard prepaid card has some massive benefits as opposed to carrying around money in your wallet or purse. For example losing your wallet or having it stolen can be a pain to say the least, and the chances of seeing your money again are very slim. By carrying a prepaid card it means that they have no idea of how much money is loaded on to the card, (as it doesn’t display gold, platinum, or reward card on the front like many credit cards) and thieves have no direct access to getting at the money and spending it within minutes, like they would with cash.
