Don't Forget Wedding Insurance When Planning Your Big DayMost couples put a lot of time, effort and money into planning their wedding. But no matter how carefully you plan for the perfect day, sometimes you simply can’t prevent things from going wrong. Wedding insurance gives you the peace of mind that even if something doesn’t go according to plan, you don’t have to be left out of pocket.

A wedding day has often been dreamed about for many years and it’s not unusual for a couple to take between a year and two years to plan the big day. Careful consideration is given to even the smallest details and brides-to-be can spend hours pouring over bridal magazines in search of inspiration for their day. With so much effort going into one day, it can seem like the end of the world if something happens to go wrong.

Unfortunately, you’re dependant on third party suppliers for many aspects of your wedding and as such you will always have to trust others to deliver on time. While most suppliers are of course reliable, you can’t be sure that everything is going to go to plan when you need it to. Should a key supplier, like a florist or DJ, fail to turn up on your wedding day, then a good insurance provider can offer wedding insurance to make sure that you’re reimbursed.

Should there be an accident with the wedding cake, or the best man loses the rings, then wedding insure can protect you. Another factor that can’t be controlled and can often wreak havoc at a wedding is the weather. Changeable British weather conditions could even lead to a wedding being cancelled and in that case wedding insurance will enable you to reschedule your big day without being left with double the bills.

Illness is another possible problem that no-one really likes to think about. But should the bride, groom or a close family member fall ill then it may be preferable to reschedule the wedding, rather than a key member of the wedding party be unable to enjoy the much anticipated celebrations.

As well as weddings, there are other important events and celebrations throughout life that can be just as important. Anniversary parties, christenings, birthdays and engagement parties can all incur high costs and take a lot of planning. Event insurance enables you to protect any special event that you are planning from unforeseeable accidents, mishaps or problems.

Every wedding and event has a different budget and no matter what this is you can find an insurance policy to suit. A £50 policy will typical provide around £5,000 worth of cover, whereas larger policies can normally insure an event for up to £50,000.

With such substantial sums being spent on these special celebrations, it’s wise to set aside a small amount of the budget to take out a wedding insurance policy. As they can cost as little as one per cent of the total event budget it is definitely worth doing to protect your investment and increase the chances of your big day going off without a hitch.
